English: Photovoltaic boom in East Brandenburg

With 5N Plus comes a new investor. The Canadian enterprise joins on the investments of First Solar, Conergy and Odersun.

The Canadian enterprise 5N Plus Inc establishes a production plant in Eisenhuettenstadt and creates 75 new jobs. In Eisenhuettenstadt ultrapure source materials for the European photovoltaic industry will be produced. Eisenhuettenstadt is the first location abroad for the company with head office in Montreal, Canada. The managers of 5N Plus appreciate the professional support for its settlement by the “ZukunftsAgentur Brandenburg” and the “Investor Center Ostbrandenburg”.

With 5N Plus the boom of photovoltaic industry in East Brandenburg continues and the growth region Frankfurt (Oder)/Eisenhuettenstadt profits from it. With 5N Plus the first supplier has decided  for the region, according to the three photovoltaic module producers First Solar, Conergy and Odersun.

“The Canadians complement the row of international investors from the USA, Japan, England and France in the growth region near the Oder”, says Dr. Martin Wilke, manager of the “Investor Centre Ostbrandenburg”. In the region Frankfurt (Oder)/Eisenhuettenstadt enterprises of solar industry invest 500 million Euros at the moment and add more than 1,000 new jobs for the region.
